Flooring Installation
A floor is only as flat, quiet and durable as the subfloor nobody ever sees.

01Overview
We install solid and engineered hardwood, laminate and luxury vinyl plank — and we refinish existing hardwood that's worth saving. Bay Area housing stock is full of old oak floors hiding under carpet that only need sanding and stain to come back.
Before a single plank goes down, the substrate has to be right. Uneven concrete gets leveled. Old subfloor gets plywood underlayment. New hardwood gets a moisture barrier so it doesn't squeak, cup or warp the first wet winter.
The last step is trim: baseboards, shoe molding and T-molding transitions where one flooring type meets another, so the whole house reads as one continuous surface instead of a set of separate rooms.

02Why JT'S for this work
Level first, install second
A high spot under a floating floor becomes a hollow click you hear every day. We flatten the substrate before anything gets laid.
Refinish when it makes sense
If the existing hardwood has thickness left, sanding and staining costs less than replacing it and keeps the original character of the house.
Transitions handled
Where rooms and materials meet, we set proper transitions and shoe molding instead of leaving a caulk line.
03What the process looks like
Flooring Installation, step by step.
- 01
Check the subfloor
We pull a section, check for flatness, moisture and soft spots, and tell you what the base actually needs.
- 02
Prep
Level, underlay and install a moisture barrier where the material calls for one.
- 03
Install
Planks are racked for a natural pattern, cut tight to walls and laid with the right expansion gap.
- 04
Trim out
Baseboard, shoe molding and transitions go on last, then the floor gets cleaned.
05Questions
Flooring FAQs
Something not covered here? Call (721) 841-9464 and ask.
Can I put new flooring over my existing floor?
Often yes — a plywood underlayment over an existing floor or uneven concrete gives you a flat, sound base. Whether that's the right call depends on the height it adds at doors and transitions.
Is my old hardwood worth refinishing?
If it hasn't been sanded down too many times already, almost always. We check the wear layer at a vent or a doorway and tell you honestly whether to refinish or replace.
Will a new floor squeak?
Squeaks come from movement — loose subfloor, missing fasteners, or no moisture barrier under hardwood. Handling those during prep is what keeps a floor quiet.
How long before we can walk on it?
Floating floors are usable the same day. Site-finished hardwood needs cure time between the stain and finish coats, and we'll give you exact timing before we start.
